Elia is in her senior year at Handsworth Secondary School. She has worked with Project Hastings for the past two years as the Secretary and the Managing Director of Project Management.
In the Project Management department, Elia collaborates with her team to prepare various events, including hot food handouts, sandwich handouts, and Krispy Kreme fundraisers.
On a more personal note, Elia enjoys skiing, practicing the baritone saxophone, and drawing.
Justin is in his senior year of the Odyssey / AP® Mini School Program at David Thompson Secondary. As current Managing Director of Project Management, Justin works with Project Hastings to develop and execute high-impact distributions and further the PH mission.
With a passion for his community, Justin hopes to continue to make it his mission to stand up in the fight against the food insecurity, homelessness and the opioid crisis experienced in his community.
When not designing meal distribution projects with the PH team, Justin can be found working with local community organizations, skiing through unmarked terrain, or just enjoying time with his friends.
Logan began his journey with Project Hastings as an individual interested in volunteer work in the DTES-though he never expected to come so far. Having been a Fundraising Director for over a year now, he has helped plan and facilitate countless events, and has created unforgettable bonds with his team. Collectively, his work at Project Hastings has made him realize that nothing quite feels like creating a lasting impact in one’s community. In his spare time, you may find him in the gym, or struggling to perfect a Prelude on the piano.
Billy Wen has been working with Project Hastings for 3 months. Billy is the current Director of Fundraising at Project Hastings. Billy is interested in business, and networking. He looks forward to working with everyone!
Ariane is the Managing Director of Social Media Coordination. She has been a member of Project Hastings ever since it has been established in 2020. She is happy to be giving back to her community and helping those in need. In Ariane's free time, she enjoys playing video games and going out with her friends. Ariane is thrilled to be working with Project Hasting's capable team in the 2022/2023 year!
Madison is delighted to serve as a Director of Social Media Coordination. Ever since her first handout, she has wanted to find a way to get more involved in PH's mission. Utilizing her addiction to social media to her advantage, she hopes to help grow PH goals to new heights. In her free time you can catch her working at her part-time job, discovering all the bubble tea shops in Vancouver, practicing a new dance routine, or sleeping.
After initiating fundraisers for individuals experiencing homelessness and volunteering for Project Hastings' distributions, Sarah joined the team as Social Media Director to work more closely with the Project Hastings community. In the future, she plans to study law and public policy to address the root causes of homelessness. On most days, you can find Sarah fundraising for her various school clubs, shooting arrows at archery ranges, or studying hard at a local library. She is excited to work with all the volunteers of Project Hastings and grow alongside the organization far into the future.
Alex is the current Managing Director of Graphic Design. He is excited to make a difference in his community, one small step at a time. Alex hopes to alleviate hunger in the Vancouver Downtown Eastside by attending sandwich handouts. He also hopes to raise awareness of hardships faced by downtown eastside residents by creating designs for social media posts. In his free time, Alex enjoys playing badminton, playing video games with his friends, and working out.
Tinklyn is currently a grade 11 student studying at Magee Secondary School. She is thrilled to be the Director of Design for Project Hastings. The moment that she had met a 9 year old cancer survivor during the pandemic, she was inspired by his story, and her passion towards giving back to the community began. Also passionate in art, painting, and performance, Tinklyn hopes that through Project Hastings, she will be able to use creativity to combat food insecurity for the less-fortunate in the downtown eastside.
Elaha is the Director of Human Resources at Project Hastings, and this is her second term in this position. She is currently in grade 11 at Vancouver Technical Secondary, and her hobbies include reading, playing her instrument, and writing. She very much enjoys the feeling of making a difference and connecting with her community, always remembering to reach out a hand to those in need.
Angela is the director of the RED and helps finding sponsors for Project Hastings. She has also volunteered handing out supplies to homeless people and give them support. She feels supportive to the community and helps it getting better. In the future, she hopes to give more support to Project Hastings and looking forward to help the community.
Emily is a senior student from Guangzhou, China, studying at Kitsilano Secondary School. She joined Project Hastings this year with the ambition to help others in need, and improve the quality of life for the less-fortunate. So far, she has participated in food distribution, and aims to connect people across Metro Vancouver to garner support and volunteers for the cause.
A grade 11 student at St. George's School, John is incredibly honoured to handle the finances for Project Hastings as the Director of Accounting. Through this position, he is excited to combine both his extracurricular interests while having the chance to work toward issues close to his heart. In his free time, John enjoys playing online chess, jogging through Vancouver's endowment lands, and playing board games with friends. John looks forward to seeing where Project Hastings progresses in the near future, and please feel free to contact him with any financial/accounting-related questions.
Arthur is a grade 12 student at Prince Of Wales Secondary and has been a member of Project Hastings since 2020. He has worked as a Graphic Design Director for two years and is now the Special Projects Director. In this new department, he works on planning community events. In his free time, Arthur enjoys playing basketball and golf with friends and is looking forward to making a difference in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.
